Twenty Megs of Storage Space
In our experience, we've found 20 megabytes of storage space to be more than enough storage space for the average web site.

Unlimited Transfers
Many web hosting companies limit the amount of "hits" your site can get at no extra charge. Animus doesn't have an extra fee. There is no charge no matter how many times people might access your web site.

Unix Operating System
Animus uses Solaris 2.5.1, a UNIX operating system. UNIX is the most popular operating system on the Internet.

Unlimited updates via your own FTP account
You will have unlimited access via FTP 24-hours a day to set up and maintain your web site. You can literally work on HTML documents, graphics, and scripts locally and then upload files to your web site when ready. An FTP tutorial and client software is available.

POP 3 E-mail Box
A POP 3 E-mail Box allows you to download your mail directly from the server with a program like Eudora.

Unlimited E-mail Aliases
This feature allows people to e-mail you to anything@ your domain. Let's assume your domain is ford.com. Your POP 3 E-mail box will receive any mail that is directed towards ford.com. Some expamples include:
sales@ford.com
webmaster@ford.com
steve@ford.com
info@ford.com

Unlimited Forwarding of Aliases
Our server allows you to forward your mail or some of your mail to other e-mail addresses. Using the examples above, let's assume you would like to send all mail that comes to steve@ford.com to his personal e-mail account that he uses at home. You can easily configure your mail so that any mail sent to steve@ford.com can be forwarded automatically to his address stevekirk@aol.com. You can do this for as many aliases as you would like. All mail that is not forwarded will be sent to your POP 3 E-mail box.

Traffic Log Files
We use a program called http-analyze to track the number of visits to each domain. These log files are updated daily and are quite detailed. You can see a current example from one of our clients.

Daily Backups
We save all of the files on your web sites five (5) times a week (Monday through Friday) as well as weekly and monthly onto a disk. This will ensure that you never loose your web site

mSQL
mSQL (mini SQL), is a lightweight database engine designed to provide fast access to stored data. We provide the tools to create a searchable database. In most instances, custom programming (commonly Perl or PHP) is needed to implement a fully functional web-to-database interface.

Secure Server
SSL (Secure Socket Layer) allows users to collect data such as credit card information in a secure environment. Information submitted via a secure form is sent to the server in an encrypted mode.

E-mail Forms
We use formmail.cgi from Matt's Script archive. This CGI program take the output from an HTML form and e-mail the results to you. You can visit our FAQ for more information about the features.

Upgradibility
You have the ability to upgrade your account, from starter to standard to corporate, or you can add features such as additional megs of space, additional ftp/telnet accounts, etc... Basically, the point is that you're not locked into your original plan.

Domain Name Registration or Transfer
Animus will handle either domain registration or transfer on your behalf. The U.S. governing agency InterNIC
charges $100 to register a domain name which covers the first two years. They currently bill at a rate of $50 per
year thereafter. Non-US domain registration must be handled by the end user.
