How do I transfer my website from another Internet provider to animus.net?

SUMMARY

You will need to zip or tar up your files, and FTP them to your account on Animus.

DETAILED SOLUTION

Transfering from a UNIX server:

Login to your existing provider via TELNET and go to the root directory of your web site.
Put all of your files into one big file by typing:
```
     tar -cvf yourdomainname.tar .
```
Then zip-up the big file by typing:
```
     gzip yourdomainname.tar
```
Now log into your account at Animus via FTP with your username and password:
```
     ftp yourdomainname(.com, .ca, etc).animus.net
```
Transfer the file by typing:
```
     bin
     put yourdomainname.tar.gz
```
Quit the FTP session by typing:
```
     bye
```
Now you will need to unzip and untar the files in your account at Animus. Login via TELNET to your account at Animus and type:
```
     gunzip yourdomainname.tar.gz; tar -xvf yourdomainname.tar
```

This is one method of transfering your site. There are other ways to accomplish the same thing.
